Market context

The San Francisco Giants travel to Los Angeles for a regular-season matchup against the Dodgers on 14 May at 10:10 PM ET, with settlement occurring by 22 May. Polymarket currently prices this contract at 0% YES, reflecting either a technical issue with the market interface or an extreme skew towards Dodgers victory. In conditional token mechanics on Polygon, this means traders holding YES shares (Giants win) face near-total dilution if the Dodgers prevail, whilst NO holders capture nearly all collateral denominated in USDC.

Historically, Giants-Dodgers matchups in May carry minimal predictive weight beyond baseline team strength. The Dodgers have dominated the fixture in recent seasons, winning roughly 60% of regular-season contests since 2020, but single-game outcomes remain volatile. A 0% market price is exceptionally rare for a game between two major-league sides and typically signals either a data feed error, liquidity collapse, or a market that has not yet attracted sufficient trading volume to establish genuine price discovery.

Traders should monitor roster updates through official MLB channels and team announcements in the week prior. Starting pitcher assignments, injury reports—particularly for key position players—and recent form streaks will shape actual win probability. The Dodgers' recent performance trajectory and any late-breaking roster changes warrant checking ESPN or MLB.com closer to game time, as these factors can shift true odds substantially from any extreme opening price.

Resolution & payout

Resolution source: This market settles from the official publication at https://www.mlb.com/. A proposer submits the result to the UMA Optimistic Oracle on Polygon, the two-hour challenge window opens, and the smart contract pays out in USDC.

Settlement runs on-chain. Polymarket's contract logic separates YES and NO shares as conditional tokens; at resolution the winning share lifts to $1.00 and the losing one to $0. The outcome input comes from the UMA Optimistic Oracle, which secures against bad resolution with a bond + dispute window.

Once finalised, the smart contract pays USDC to the holders' wallets within minutes — no withdrawal fees beyond Polygon network gas. Kalshi settles in USD via CFTC clearance, Betfair in account currency net of commission, Manifold in play-money mana with no cash-out.
