Market context

The Padres travel to Milwaukee for a regular-season matchup on 13 May, with the conditional token currently trading at 17% implied probability of a San Diego victory. On Polygon, this YES token reflects market pricing in USDC terms, with traders effectively pricing the Brewers as substantial favourites. The settlement window extends to 20 May at 23:40 UTC, allowing for postponement resolution should weather or scheduling issues arise.

Historical matchups between these franchises show competitive balance, though Milwaukee has held marginal advantages in recent seasons. The Brewers' home-field advantage at American Family Field typically carries measurable weight in regular-season pricing; Polymarket contracts for home teams generally reflect 3–5 percentage-point premiums relative to neutral-site expectations. San Diego's 17% probability sits below typical road-team baselines, suggesting the market is pricing in additional factors beyond venue alone—likely roster composition, recent form, or pitching matchup specifics as of the contract creation date.

Traders monitoring this contract should track starting pitcher announcements, which typically arrive 24–48 hours before first pitch and can shift conditional token valuations materially. Injury reports for key position players or bullpen availability could similarly move prices. Weather forecasts for Milwaukee on game day warrant attention, as precipitation or wind conditions affect both run-scoring environments and game postponement likelihood. Recent team performance trends and any roster moves announced between contract creation and 13 May will influence how the market reprices the YES token relative to its current 17% level.

Methodology

Methodologically we separate two layers: the live probability (Polymarket mid-price) and the platform attributes (fee, KYC, settlement currency, payment rails). That keeps the comparison honest — a single canonical probability across the row, with the venue-by-venue trade-offs spelt out in the columns next to it.

Resolution & payout

Resolution source: This market settles from the official publication at https://www.mlb.com/. A proposer submits the result to the UMA Optimistic Oracle on Polygon, the two-hour challenge window opens, and the smart contract pays out in USDC.

Settlement runs on-chain. Polymarket's contract logic separates YES and NO shares as conditional tokens; at resolution the winning share lifts to $1.00 and the losing one to $0. The outcome input comes from the UMA Optimistic Oracle, which secures against bad resolution with a bond + dispute window.

Once finalised, the smart contract pays USDC to the holders' wallets within minutes — no withdrawal fees beyond Polygon network gas. Kalshi settles in USD via CFTC clearance, Betfair in account currency net of commission, Manifold in play-money mana with no cash-out.
