How to Sign Up to Polymarket from the UK (2026)

Signing up to Polymarket takes about 10 minutes. You need a crypto wallet (MetaMask is most popular), some USDC on the Polygon network, and an email address. No KYC is required for basic usage, though volume traders may be asked to verify later.

Step 1: Download a Wallet

Install MetaMask as a browser extension (Chrome or Firefox) or use the MetaMask mobile app. Create a new wallet and securely back up your 12-word seed phrase — this is your only recovery method.

Step 2: Add USDC to Polygon

  • Buy USDC on a UK exchange (Coinbase, Kraken, Revolut)
  • Send USDC to your MetaMask wallet using the Polygon network (not Ethereum mainnet)
  • Add Polygon to MetaMask: chainId 137, RPC https://polygon-rpc.com

Step 3: Connect to Polymarket

Visit polymarket.com and click "Connect Wallet". Select MetaMask (or WalletConnect for mobile). Approve the connection in your wallet. Your Polymarket account is automatically created from your wallet address.

Step 4: Deposit USDC

Click "Deposit" in the Polymarket interface. Your existing Polygon USDC will appear. Deposit the amount you want to trade with — minimum is effectively $1.

Step 5: Place Your First Trade

Browse markets, select an outcome, enter your position size, and click "Buy". The transaction confirms in seconds on Polygon.

Is Polymarket Available in the UK?

Yes. Polymarket is accessible from the UK via standard browsers. It is not blocked by UK ISPs. The platform does not hold a UKGC licence as it operates as an information market, not a gambling product.
